An amazing start...

by Sam Chase

The campaign is off to an amazing start!

Since launching the campaign in November, more than one hundred supporters have contributed and attended house parties. It's been so great to talk with folks about the challenges facing our community and my plans for Metro. There are so many people doing incredible work and who care so much about our community.

My goal is to raise $20,000 by December 31st. That's a big number, but we're so very close - will you help me get over the top? Your donation will help pay for lawn signs and mail to tell voters about my plans for jobs, housing, schools, and our environment

Speaking of campaign managers, I'm looking for a smart, savvy, energetic, upbeat person ready to work hard, move fast, and win. Know someone? Here are the details.

Happy holidays!

Sam

p.s. Have you used your Oregon political tax credit this year? It's an easy way to make a $50 donation without costing you a penny. Here's the deal: Through our tax system, the State of Oregon gives each tax-paying Oregonian a $50 gift ($100 per couple). But you can't keep it. Instead, you must either pay it back in state taxes -- or donate it to a qualified political campaign or cause. More info at OregonTaxCredit.com. Make your $50 donation to my campaign right here. Thank you!

Meet Sam Chase

Photo of SamShortly after college, I accepted a job as a substitute teacher. I was assigned to a school in the Cabrini Green projects of Chicago - known for their extreme poverty, violence and crime. There I met and worked with kindergarten children who were already left behind. That experience helped shape my values today—that every child deserves an opportunity to succeed in life.

I've worked to create jobs, protect our environment, strengthen public schools, build affordable housing for our lowest-income residents and communities of color, help the uninsured access healthcare and create an economy that provides opportunity for all.

These are the values I'll fight for as your next Metro Councilor.
